TRC ski cores increase load-bearing capacity and dynamic performance while being highly customizable. This innovative, lightweight TRC core will be advantageous in the production of skis, opening up new applications within sports equipment and beyond, including the automotive industry and aerospace.
Production processes using a desired pre-stressing load can be easily varied to achieve specific characteristics and new combinations of features beyond the capacity of current equipment.
Model calculations predict that TRC has inherent advantages over wood (the traditional material for ski cores) due to its high load-bearing and damping characteristics. TRC is inherently more adaptable. The reinforcements use a variety of fibers and can be designed to specific traits, such as torsional and bending stiffness, radius, hardness, damping, and weight, tuned to meet the requirements of different types of skis and other applications.
Manufacturers can adjust the TRC to achieve a broader spectrum of characteristics through individualized production processes, catering to an increasingly specialized audience, including extreme requirements.
